Principle Of Animation #12-Personality

This principle of animation is mostly made up of the correct application of the other principles in order to create a believable and strong personality for an animated character. A large part of this principle is the actions that the character performs under different conditions in order for people to figure out his reactions and personality so that the animation is more interesting to watch

Principle Of Animation #11-Appeal

Appeal is the principle of design that relate to things that people want to see, or appeal. This includes everything, including using the other principles of animation and sound to make a character interesting.

Principle Of Animation #9- Straight Ahead Action

This and pose-pose action are methods of actually animating the video. The first is when each frame is drawn individually, and the latter is when the major keyframes are drawn and the rest are generated by computers.

Principle Of Animation #8-Follow through

Follow through is the opposite of anticipation. Unlike the action before the action, the follow through is the action that happens after the main event, for example the persons arm continuing to rotate through after throwing the baseball.

Principle Of Animation #7-Secondary Action

A secondary action is an action that creates realism and interest in animation. It has to be used to compliment the action, as to not draw away attention from the main scene, like people walking in the background. It has to be used to make the seem scene more natural and interesting.

Principle Of Animation #6-Squash and stretch

Squash and stretch is a way of deforming an oject to accent its rigitity and the motion that it shows, for example, having a rubber ball compress as it hits the ground and stretch as it leaves.

Principle Of Animation #5-Exaggeration

The principle exaggeration is used to accent an action to make sure that the viewer understands the purpose of the action and so that it draw more attention to it.

Principle Of Animation #4-Anticipation

Anticipation is a principle of design that is the part of action that occurs before the execution of the action, that leads you to know that its coming, for example, moving your hand back before you're about to throw a baseball.

Principle Of Animation #3-Arcs

This principle of animation tells us the fact that in the real world, everything travels in arcs, rather than simple, linear paths.

Principle Of Animation #2-Ease in and out

This principle of animation focuses on having objects increase and decrease their velocity from a stand-still in order to show various effects, such as gravity. Thats what I did for my example, making it slow down as it reaches the top and speeds up again as it falls.

Principle Of Animation #1-Timing

This principle of animation focuses on the speed of the animation to achieve different effects from very similar movement; the speed at which the object moves gives you a much wider range of information then anticipated, for example the weight of the object, the shape, the medium it is in, or the action it is signifying. In my example, I make a ball slow down as it hits water to signify its higher density.
